8gbcomparisonchart

If you still haven’t snagged an iPhone 3GS, there may be more options for you in the near future.  According to MacRumors, a comparison chart on the Rogers Wireless website appears to confirm an 8GB iPhone 3GS will be added to Apple’s lineup.

As you can see from the comparison chart above, there is a giant blue check mark clearly indicating an 8GB iPhone 3GS model.  This is the only portion of the website that reflects its existence, and no other information is available, including pricing or availability.

UPDATE: Gizmodo has received a statement from a Rogers spokesperson stating that the listing was an error:

You’re right, there is no 8GB 3G s iPhone. There is a formatting error on our website. It is being corrected asap

Last week, Boy Genius Report came across an internal memo from Rogers that indicated the company would be selling through their existing inventory of the 8GB iPhone 3G before transitioning to the 8GB iPhone 3GS.  Today’s discovery seems to confirm this earlier report, but you can never be too sure these days.

Would any of you budget-conscious shoppers be interested in a lower capacity iPhone 3GS?
