Vintage Scene Gives Photos Old-Time Look

One of our readers wanted others to know about a fantastic new app called Vintage Scene. Released by JixiPix, LLC, the app gives your new photographs an old-time look. The app works on iPhone/iPod touch.

Vintage Scene lets you choose from 15 separate effects, which are each magical. According to the company, a unique algorithm is used that automatically combines several classic effects.  These include: sepia tone, grain, darkened edges, and distressed paper. There’s also the look of an old faded photo that has only bright blacks and darkening whites.

The app supports full scale images and includes a preview mode for quick workflow, as well as presets.

The app is easy to use, but is extremely powerful. The end result is a high quality photo uniquely created for graphic artists, photographers and hobbyists alike.

I found each finished photo amazing, fresh and of superior quality. However, the time it takes to render each photo (which happens when the photo is saved or emailed) is quite long, sometimes up to a minute. Please keep that in mind.
